The voiceless sounds of the early morn
Felt as music to my ears
Not the ears on the sides of my head
But the ones that hear that which no one hears
I embarked then on the heart’s journey
A secret path travelled by but a few
For the first time I was brought to my knees
In awe of words that from the Soul came through
That still inner voice then got me to think
Teaching me what I already know
That once a poet spills his ink
It’s more than the paper that begins to glow
Fellow traveler! Welcome!
To a one of a kind journey, a Journey of the Heart, where I share my thoughts in the form of poetry on various subjects pertaining to love, spirituality, longing, separation, heartbreak, redemption and what I feel is the path to deliverance from the melancholy that has enveloped us in the modern age – The path of Divine Love.
Even if all this book achieves is renewing your interest in the magnificent universe around us or simply inspiring you to take the never ending journey inwards, it will surely have achieved its purpose!
Adil Raza, “The Chanting Soul”, is a humble student of the “University of Hard Knocks” – better known as The Mystery of Life. An MBA graduate and an avid book reader, Raza currently resides in Islamabad where God willing, he aspires to expand his horizons. With a deep interest in spiritual, philosophical and cosmological subjects, which he shares through his unique style of writing, Raza tries to convey to the minds of his readers, the keynote of all philosophy, the age old admonition, to “Know and Be thyself!”, with a fresh, contemporary touch. His main poetic inspirations are Muhammad Iqbal and Jalaluddin Rumi, who though so diverse in their thought processes; activity and passivity, self-affirmation and self-negation, according to the criterion for soul development in their respective eras, still somehow manage to point towards and ultimately reach, the same One Reality.
